The Dunav folk dance community

Israel probably isn't really the first place you think about when you think about Balkan dancing, but visitors are inevitably surprised by what they've found here. Judging from people's reactions, we've created something special.

The success of our community starts on the dance floor. For us, dancing is fun and the celebration is in dancing together. It shows in the way that we welcome newcomers to our group, no one dances behind the line or outside the circle.

We have a dedicated group of dancers that show up every week, including weeks when there are bombings, weeks when the snow makes it almost impossible to travel, and weeks when there are national sports events like the World Cup on TV.
